Both a fire engine and a 4x4 appliance were mobilised from Okehampton following reports of a horse stuck in a ditch. The animal rescue equipment was also mobilised from Exmouth, however whilst the animal rescue equipment was still en route the crews in attendance released the horse using the forward pull technique, utilising strops and lines.
Crews confirmed that the horse remained unharmed throughout the rescue.
