Vehicle fire

Fire Control received a call from the Highways Agency reporting a vehicle on fire on the A38 Eastbound carriageway in the Chudleigh Knighton area and mobilised crews from Bovey Tracey and Ashburton. 

On approaching the incident crews confirmed that smoke and flames were issuing from a vehicle.

On arrival at the incident crews got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The final details were confirmed as one vehicle 90% damaged by fire, crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one thermal imaging camera. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
