Property fire

Fire crews are currently in attendance at an address near to Newton Road in the Stoford area of Yeovil. 

Fire Control received a report of lots of black smoke seen in the area. 

A fire engine was mobilised to attend from Yeovil and upon their attendance, they request a second fire engine and a water carrier. Shortly after, a third fire engine was requested for personnel and water. 

Crews are currently extinguishing the fire. More updates to follow. 

Update 2355 hours

All crews have now left this incident. This fire involved some outdoor storage containers containing gardening and scaffolding equipment as well as 220 bales of hay. All were 100 per cent destroyed by fire and the fire was extinguished using:

• 2 Main jets
• 1 Hose reel jet
• 1 Foam jet
• 2 Breathing apparatus

The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate.
