Three fire engines from Danes Castle, Exeter and Middlemoor, Exeter along with an aerial ladder platform from Taunton and an officer were mobilised to a block of flats in Exeter after reports of the bin store on fire. The bin store was attached to the building.
Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet. The fire in the ground floor bin store involving large industrial bins was confirmed out at 00:45. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke logging of the building stairwell and the aerial ladder platform was stood down. In total 4 breathing apparatus sets, 1 hose reel jet and 1 safety jet were used.
Police were also requested to attend this incident.
