Vehicle fire

Fire control received a call to smoke issuing from a bin lorry in the Oreston area of Plymouth,

Control mobilised 2 fire engines from Greenbank fire station and a water carrier from Plympton.

Once in attendance, crews confirmed there was a fire in the rear of a bin lorry and crews were attacking the fire with 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet.

Shortly after arriving on scene, crews then confirmed that the operatives of the lorry emptied the load to gain better access to the fire.

Crews confirmed the fire to be out and extinguished the fire leaving the rubbish on the highway for the responsible people to arrange collection.
