Fire control received a call regarding a terrace property fire in Wellington. 2 fire engines from Wellington, 1 fire engine from Wiveliscombe attended the incident alongside an officer.
On arrival, smoke was issuing and crews were able to confirm the fire was isolated to the ground floor. The electrics and gas were isolated allowing the crews to get to work with 2 breathing apparatus, 2 jets, a positive pressure fan and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. This resulted in 5% fire damage to the kitchen but 100% smoke damage throughout the building.
This is believed to have been caused by a log burner.
