Fire control received a call to the smell of burning and smoke issuing from a property on Queen Elizabeth Drive, Paignton and believed there to be someone in the property.

Control mobilised 3 fire engines from Paignton and Torquay along with a supporting officer.

On arrival, crews confirmed smoke within the premise was caused by unattended cooking and led the occupant to safety. Crews ventilated the property using 1 positive pressure ventilation fan. 

The occupant was left in the hands of ambulance personnel for a precautionary check. The fire was confirmed as accidental.
