Property fire
Fire control received several calls to reports of smoke issuing from a top floor flat in Vauxhall Street, Plymouth. There were reports of people still within the building. Fire control mobilised 4 pumps due to the number of calls and an officer to attend the incident.
Upon arrival crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle the fire. Crews quickly confirmed that all persons were free and clear from the property with one resident suffering from smoke inhalation who was handed over to the ambulance service for medical care.
Ambulance and police were on scene with the road being closed while the incident was ongoing
Crews increased to 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 2 safety jets and 1 thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property of any leftover smoke.
