Van Fire

2 fire appliances from Taunton were mobilised following a call from the driver of a van who's engine compartment had caught fire in the car park of Curry Mallet Primary School on Lower Street. Crews were soon on scene and confirmed the van was well alight. They set to work using breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and hydraulic spreaders for better access to the engine compartment, and soon had the fire under control.. Once extinguished and the vehicle, and scene, made safe, duty of care was left with the owner awaiting recovery.
