Fire Control received a call reporting a horse stuck in a ditch in the Sticklepath area.
Fire Control immediately mobilised crew from Okehampton and Specialist Rescue Team from Exmouth with 2x officers.

At 15:48 - Crew requested an all terrain vehicle and the tele-handler from our Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Station via a 'make up' message. 

15:55 - Crew have confirmed that a 15 hand horse is stuck in a water filled ditch located at a remote location from the stables. A Vet is also in attendance. Crew are currently standing by awaiting the arrival of further resources.

At 16:40 - Efforts are now being made to remove horse from the ditch. Specialist Rescue equipment and te all terrain vehicle are now in use. 

Final update at 18:20 - Crews successfully rescued the horse from a water filled ditch using specialist rescue equipment. Crews stood by for a short period following the rescue to assist the vet if required.
