Fire Control received a call from a member of the public reporting that they could see smoke coming out from a property in Staddon Road area of Appledore. Crews from Appledore, Bideford and Barnstaple was immediately mobilised to this incident.

Once crew got in attendance, they confirmed smoke was issuing from the property. Crew managed to gain access to the property and confirmed that there was a fire inside and got to work with 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet and 1x 45ml covering jet. Crew also to successfully rescue a dog that was inside the property and provided oxygen therapy to the dog.

The fire was located in the ground floor of the property and was successfully extinguished using a total of 6x breathing apparatus, 2x hose reel jets, 2x safety jets, 3x thermal image cameras, 1x positive pressure ventilation fan, small tools and a gas monitor. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
