Transport incident

2 fire appliances from Barnstaple attended a small pleasure yacht, moored up on the bank of the River Taw, nr Taw Wharf, Sticklepath after it was deliberately set on fire. Fire Control received lots of calls from local residents as the fire was clearly visible from both sides of the river. 

Crews were soon on scene and had the fire under control using hose reel jets, before using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots. Once out and the scene made safe, duty of care was left with the Police. There were no casualties.
