Property fire

Fire control received a call from the site stating there was a machine that had caught fire within a commercial building, staff had evacuated the building at the time of the call. The machine was a flexi forklift which was battery powered. 

Fire control mobilised 3 pumping appliances, an aerial ladder platform and an officer to deal with the fire. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, one main jet and one safety jet to tackle the fire. Once the fire was extinguished crews continued to cool the battery using a horse reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to check the temperature. The battery was then removed from the machine to outside in the open air where crews continued to cool and monitor temperatures. 

The machine was 100% damaged by fire which was deemed accidental.
