Large Vehicle Fire

Fire Crews from Torquay are in attendance in Queensway Close Torquay extinguishing a fire within a Bin Lorry using 2 Breathing Apparatus, 2 Hose Reel Jets, 1 covering jet and one Thermal Imaging Camera to check for hotspots. Crews managed to extinguish the fire as much as possible due to limitations on public highway and are now escorting vehicle on its return to depot to assist with further dampening down and removal of waste material in a controlled and supervised manor. Drains in the area of Queensway were protected using environmental dams to stop water run off.
