Fire Control received a call from a member of the public reporting a 2 vehicle RTC on the A35 at Greenway Head just outside of Axminster. 

Control mobilised Axminster, Charmouth and a supporting officer both from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service. 

Once in attendance crews confirmed a 2 vehicle Road Traffic Collision, with one person walking wounded and another casualty still within a vehicle, Crews set about stabilising the vehicle and assessing the casualty whilst formulating a plan for extrication. 

Crews removed the side of the vehicle using Hydraulic Cutting Equipment and Small Tools to successfully extricate the casualty. Both vehicles were subsequently made safe.

Crews also requested highways to attend for oil and debris

The casualty was left in the hands of the Ambulance, and the scene left in the hands of the Police. 

Crews also requested highways to attend for oil and debris clean up on the main carriageway.
