Vehicle fire

A fire appliance from Barnstaple was mobilised following a call from the owner of a vehicle that had caught fire in a car park at the bottom of Richmond Street in Barnstaple. Our crew were on scene within minutes and soon had the fire, which started in the engine compartment and was well alight on our arrival, under control using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet, followed by a thermal imaging camera and small tools to make the vehicle safe. The vehicle was left 50% damaged. There were no casualties.
