Road traffic collision
2 fire appliances from Bridgwater were mobilised to a one vehicle RTC on Quantock Road, Bridgwater after Police requested our assistance to help rescue one casualty trapped after the vehicle went through a hedge. Crews worked alongside Ambulance paramedics to assess the female casualty and formulate a plan to extricate her. Initial assessments regarding casualty care meant this took a long time with crews having to access the vehicle and remove the rear seat to effect a safe rescue. However, this incident was under control at 1930hrs. In the end the female casualty was able to self extricate with the assistance of Ambulance and Fire Service, before crews made the vehicle and scene safe. The casualty was conveyed to hospital and the incident left in the hands of the Police.
