Property fire

Fire control received a call from an occupant of a house pm Castle Street in Keinton Mandeville, Somerton to a fuse board on fire.

Control mobilised 3 fire appliances from Street, Castle Cary and Glastonbury along with a supporting officer from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue.

Once on scene, crews confirmed slight smoke logging within property and immediately isolated the fuse board. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to investigate further and ventilate the property.

Crews confirmed the property to be ventilated and breathing apparatus was discontinued. Crews requested national grid to attend to make the fuse board safe.

The fire caused 10% fire damage to the fuse board and 5% smoke damage to the room of origin. This fire was deemed to be accidental. These are the full and final details.
