Fire control mobilised appliances to the above location at the request of our colleagues in Avon & Somerset Police to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision.

On arrival crews confirmed 1 female still trapped within a single vehicle. Crews were administering first aid and stabilising the vehicle.

Police are in attendance and Watchwell Drove is closed so members of public are advised to avoid the area.

Update - This incident is now complete and was brought under control at 18:13hrs. The car, which had left the carriageway and collided with a tree, caused the female casualty to be severely trapped. Crews (comprising of 3 fire appliances from Glastonbury, Street and Somerton, together with a heavy rescue vehicle from Glastonbury) worked alongside Ambulance paramedics to initially stabilise the vehicle, before first removing one side of the vehicle for paramedics to provide medical assistance, and then the roof to allow for extrication of the patient. This was achieved using 3 sets of hydraulic cutting equipment and stabilisation equipment. Once released the casualty was conveyed to hospital via road ambulance. The vehicle and scene were made safe before duty of care was left with the police. These are the full and final details.
