Fire control received several calls for smoke issuing from the property. Fire crews mobilised 6 fire appliances from Camels Head, Crownhill, Greenbank,Plymstock and Plympton due to this property being a high rise building. Fire control also mobilised the Ariel Platform Ladder from Crownhill and the Incident Command Unit from Totnes.  

Crews made pumps 8 at 1130hrs for extra positive pressure ventilation fans to help clear the smoke in the building. These appliances came from Ivybridge & Yelverton

Upon arrival fire crews confirmed a fire in the communal kitchen on the third floor of a seven storey building used as student accomodation, crews used eight breathing apparatuses, two smoke curtains,three positive pressure ventilation fans and small tools to extinguish the fire. All persons were accounted for and no injuries.
