Property fire

Fire Control received multiple calls to a property fire in the Elmsdale Road area of Paignton. Crews from Paignton and Torquay were mobilised alongside a Fire Officer.

Upon arrival crews confirmed smoke and flames issuing and requested 2 further fire engines. Fire control mobilised on-call crews from Torqay and Brixham alongside an Incident Command Unit from Totnes. 

Crews got to work with 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x safety jet. An Aerial ladder platform is now being used to access the roof space. At 19:17 Crews used 4x breathing apparatus with 2x firefighters in the aerial cage and 2x firefighters in the building. At 19:40 crews confirmed that breathing apparatus is now being discontinued. Crews are now using respiratory equipment and gas monitors.

The fire was in the first floor flat and is 100% damaged by smoke and fire. The fire was extinguished using 6x breathing apparatus, 3x hose reel jets, 1x safety jet, 1x attack jet and 1x aerial appliance.  The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
