Property fire
2 fire appliances from our Plymouth station at Plymstock and Greenbank were mobilised yesterday evening after Fire Control received numerous calls from local residents reporting plumes of smoke coming from Eastfield Avenue in Plymouth. Initial reports were it was a garage on fire but once on scene crews confirmed this to be 2 sheds well alight at the rear of a property.
This incident is complete and was brought under control at 2114hrs. Crews worked well to prevent the fire from spreading any further, using 1 hose reel jet and drag forks, but the sheds were completely destroyed. Minor damage was caused to an adjacent outbuilding but no other structures were effected and there were no injuries. The fire was believed to have been started deliberately and once crews made the scene safe, the incident was left in the hands of Police and one of our Fire Investigation Officers.
