Vehicle fire

A fire engine from Torquay was mobilised by Fire Control to a report of a car on fire in Torquay.  On arrival the crew confirmed that the car was on the public highway alight and got to work using a breathing apparatus wearer with a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The Police were also requested to attend as it was uncertain as to whether the car had been set alight to deliberately.  Once the fire was extinguished the scene was left in the hands of Police who were going to be arranging recovery of the vehicle.  The cause of the fire is undetermined.
