Fire control received reports of a tractor on fire, towing a mower, in a field of cut grass this afternoon. One fire engine from Tavistock and from Yelverton station attended the incident. On arrival crews confirmed the tractor to be well alight and set to work with one hose reel jet, one foam jet with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
The fire was quickly brought under control with the vehicle sustaining significant fire damage.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
