Vehicle fire

A fire appliance from Exmouth was mobilised to Knowle Hill, Budleigh Salterton, following calls from passing motorists reporting a car on fire on the side of the road. On arrival of the crew they confirmed the vehicle was well alight and set to work extinguishing it using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet. Once extinguished the vehicle and area were made safe, with duty of care left with the driver awaiting recovery. There were no casualties and the incident was brought under control at 1102hrs.
