Property fire

Control mobilised a number of fire engines and a water bowser following calls reporting a barn fire. Upon arrival the Incident Commander requested more fire engines be mobilised as the barn was well alight, these additional appliances attended from Cornwall.

Crews are currently at work attempting to prevent the spread of fire to an adjoining workshop. 

Equipment currently in use is:

• Two ground monitors
• Two main jets
• One covering and one safety jet
• Four hose reel jets
• A number of thermal image cameras
• Two breathing apparatus

The incident ground has been sectorised.

** Update - All appliances have now left the incident. Final details are:

Agricultural workshop building measuring approx. 20 metres by 50 metres well alight. Adjoining workshop building measuring approx. 30 metres by 50 metres partially involved in fire. Throughout the incident a total of three breathing apparatus were deployed, as well as the equipment listed above.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
