Property fire

Fire control received a couple of calls to a potential commercial fire on Southley road in South Molton.

Fire control mobilised 3 fire appliances from South Molton, Barnstaple and Appledore, 1 aerial ladder platform from Barnstaple and a supporting officer.

Once on scene, crews confirmed building on fire within locked compound and efforts were bing made to force entry to extinguish fire using short extension ladder and hydraulic cutting equipment. Once entry was gained, crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and 1 45mm jet.

Final update - crews confirmed 1 derelict building within locked compound destroyed by fire. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet, 1 thermal imaging camera and small tools. Crews requested police to attend as this was deemed as deliberate.
