Property fire
Fire control received several reports to a fire and smoke located within a small business park
Crews from Buckfastleigh, Ashburton, Paignton and an Aerial appliance from Torquay was mobilised. Upon arrival at incident, crews made up for additional fire engines.
Currently 9 fire engines, 2 water carriers, 1 aerial ladder platform, command support unit and environmental protection unit is in attendance and the welfare unit from Ivybridge has been mobilised.
At 07:15 - Crews are at work with 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x compressed air foam jet and are attempting to protect the neighbouring properties.
At 07:37 - crews currently using 2x compressed air foam supply jets, 2x breathing apparatus, 1x main jet
At 08:00 - Crews are making steady progress attacking the fire in affected buildings. Crews have sectorised this incident - currently in use - 4x breathing apparatus, 2x 45mm jet, 2x compressed air foam jet and 1x hose reel jet 2x thermal image cameras and aerial ladder platform.
At 09:10 - Good progress being made preventing fire spread. Breathing apparatus, water jets, foam jets, aerial ladder platform in use.
At 09:48 - Steady progress being made to prevent fire spread.
At 10:30 - Resources will shortly be reduced to three pumping appliances, an aerial ladder platform and a water bowser.
At 16:00 - The incident has been scaled down to one appliance. This was a fire in a building that consisted of seven industrial units, accidental cause.
