Road traffic collision

Fire control received a call from Ambulance reporting a road traffic collision on the A35 at Taunton Cross. Ambulance reported casualties still within the vehicles.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Axminster, one fire appliance from Colyton, the heavy rescue vehicle from Taunton and a duty officer to attend this incident. 

On arrival the incident commander confirmed a three vehicle road traffic collision with two persons still within the vehicle believed to be medically trapped. 

Ambulance arrived on scene promptly and assisted the crew with the casualties. 

Crew got to work with the ambulance service to extricate the casualties from the vehicle. Duty of care was handed over to the paramedics. 

The crew made the vehicles safe and assisted the police with removing vehicles from the highway.
