Fire control received a couple of calls to a van on fire on the junction of Ridgeway and New Park Road in Plympton.

Once on scene, crews confirmed 1 transit styled van was well alight. Crews got to work extinguishing fire using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet.

Further update - Police now in attendance assisting with road closures whilst crews deal with the fire. Crews confirmed they were at work with environmental kit to prevent fuel entering nearby drains.

Final update - fire now extinguished and recovered to nearby address to allow road to re-open. Crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 fog spike, 1 thermal imaging camera and environmental pack. Crews requested highways to attend to clear debris from road. This fire was confirmed to be accidental and the incident was left with Police.
