A call was received at fire control reporting a fire in the kitchen of a property at the above location. On arrival at the incident crews found smoke issuing and alarms sounding and no occupiers present. They set to work gaining entry to the property and began tackling the fire with breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, one covering jet, and using a thermal imaging camera. A dog and a cat were quickly located by the fire crews and were swiftly rescued from the property and a vet contacted due to them suffering smoke inhalation.

Once extinguished the fire was found to have caused heavy smoke damage to the kitchen and had completely destroyed the cooker. Crews left the property in the hands of the occupiers with advice to contact an electrician to assess isolation of power to cooker area. They also provided fire safety advice to neighbouring properties and fitted some smoke detectors.
