Property fire

Fire control received a call from a resident of a property in Fisher street, Paignton to their property filling with smoke.

Control mobilised 2 fire appliances from Paignton and Torquay and a supporting officer.

Once on scene, crews confirmed 1 property heavily smoke logged. Crews were at work with 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet and small tools.

Final update @ 13:30 - crews confirmed fire involving heat lamp now extinguished causing 30% fire damage to heat lamp and 100% heat and smoke damage to affected property. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet, 1 positive pressure ventilation fan and small tools. Crews rescued 1 tortoise and returned it to the owner and advice was given to owner to seek advice from a vet. Crews confirmed this fire was accidental.
