Two fire appliances attended a fire involving a 15ft speedboat in Torquay harbour. On arrival crews requested a further 2 appliances for support.
Crews put the fire out using one hose reel jet, and the boat was destroyed by the fire. The harbour master attended and liaised with crews during the incident. One male was taken to hospital with superficial burns to hands and arm by the ambulance service.
The cause of the fire was accidental. Duty of care was left with the harbour master.
