Property fire

Fire control received a call reporting a fire at the above address. Two fire appliances from Yeovil and one from Sherborne were immediately mobilised along with an aerial ladder platform and officer.

On arrival of crews, they quickly confirmed smoke issuing from the property, believed to be coming from a tumble dryer in the basement. Crews got to work with 4 breathing apparatus, 1 attack jet, 2 covering jets, and 1 hose reel jet. Shortly after, the fire was out and crews got to work ventilating the property with 2 positive pressure ventilation fans.

The tumble dryer was 100% damaged by fire and the room was 50% damaged by fire. The ground floor and first floor suffered from light smoke damage. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
