Fire Control received a call from the occupier of a property saying they could smell gas.  The caller was advised to evacuate the property.

2 fire engines were mobilised, 1 from Camels Head and 1 from Crownhill Plymouth, along with the Environmental Protection Unit from Newton Abbot.

On arrival, crews confirmed there to be a smell of gas inside.  2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel jet and a gas monitor were in use.

Gas readings were found on the gas detection monitor.  The gas was found to be coming from a household appliance.  The gas was isolated and Wales and West Utilities attended.  A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the property.

Duty of care was left with the occupiers.
