Property fire

Fire Control received a call from a property to report a fire involving their chimney.

1 Fire engine attended.  On arrival, crews confirmed that the chimney was alight, higher up the chimney pot caused by a wood burning stove.  Crews moved the wood burner so they could gain better access from the flue area.  After some time, crews requested the attendance of an aerial ladder platform, as the fire was difficult to access.

Once the aerial appliance was in attendance, crews got to work with chimney gear, 1 hose reel jet, thermal imaging equipment, small tools and safety at height equipment.  The fire was extinguished safely and duty of care was left with the occupier.
