Property fire
2 fire appliances from our Exeter stations at Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised following a call from a resident on Pinhoe Road in Exeter reporting a garage on fire. After establishing that the garage was attached to a house a further fire appliance was mobilised, also from Exeter.
Crews were on scene within minutes and worked well to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to the attached house. However, an ambulance was requested for 2 occupants who had suffered some smoke inhalation. First aid was rendered to them by fire service personnel before being left in the hands of paramedics.
At 21:11hrs crews confirmed that the fire was out, with crews using 2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet, followed by a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the garage of smoke. The garage sustained only light heat and smoke damage. These are the full and final details.
