Fire Control received a call reporting an overturned HGV carrying livestock with a driver trapped. Control mobilised three fire engines and crews got to work releasing the trapped driver. Crews soon requested that the specialist rescue equipment from Bridgwater was mobilised to assist in releasing the livestock from the HGV.
Equipment used by fire crews are as follows:
- Hydraulic cutting equipment
- Edraulic rescue equipment
- Air operated tools
- Triple extension ladder
Crews rescued 70 pigs from the overturned lorry.
Update 19:26pm - All fire crews have now left the scene and this incident has been left in hands of Police.
