Property fire

Fire control received a call to a fire within a kitchen in a retail premise on Frome Business Park.

Control mobilised 2 appliances from Frome, 1 fire appliance from Warminster (Dorset and Wiltshire FRS), 1 aerial ladder platform and a supporting appliance from Bath ( Avon FRS).

Upon arrival of fire crews, staff were evacuating property and could confirm attempts had been made to extinguish fire prior to our arrival using a fire blanket. Crews entered building with 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 thermal imaging camera and a covering jet. Shortly after, crews were able to confirm the ALP and support appliance from Bath was not required.

Crews confirmed that the fire had been extinguished using fire blanket applied by staff and CO2 extinguishers by frs crew. 

Once the fire was confirmed as extinguished, due to slight smoke logging of premise, crews got to work ventilating using 2 positive pressure ventilation fan.

Final update - Fire involving deep fat fryer causing 5% fire and smoke damage to property. Crews using in total 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 main jet, 2 positive pressure ventilation fans, 1 thermal imaging camera and 1 gas detection monitor. The property was ventilated to clear remaining smoke logging. The cause of this fire was confirmed as accidental.
