Fire Control received a call reporting a microwave on fire at the above location this evening.
Control immediately mobilised a fire engine from Minehead and one from nearby Williton.
On arrival crews confirmed that smoke detectors in the property were sounding and that the premises was smoke logged. All persons had evacuated prior to the arrival of the bridgade.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a thermal imaging camera and a co2 extinguisher. The microwave sustained 50% damage and there was light smoke damage to the kitchen area. The cause of the fire was accidental and no persons were hurt as a result.
