This evening fire control received a call to the area of Watersmeet National trust site to help extricate an injured member of the public off of steep terrain.

Control mobilised 1 fire appliance and 4x4 vehicle from Lynton, 1 specialist rescue team from Barnstaple and a supporting officer. 

Once on scene Lynton fire crews confirmed they had made their way to the area where the casualty was located and had the casualty in sight. 

On arrival of the SRT team, safety at height equipment was set up in order to aid crews down to the casualty. Once crews were with the casualty, they assisted the casualty onto a vacuum stretcher and extricated the casualty out of the risk area and onto a waiting ambulance.
