Fire control received multiple calls for a car on fire on Penpethy road in Brixham.

Control mobilised 1 fire appliance from Brixham.

Once on scene crews confirmed 1 car well alight on a driveway. The fire had also caught onto the porch of a property beside the car as well as a nearby hedge. Crews were extinguishing the fire using 2 Hose reel jets, 2 Breathing apparatus, 1 thermal imaging camera, 1 safety jet and small tools. 

Update 11:45 - crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished but crews were exposing the exterior of the affected porch to check for any fire spread or hotspots and making the vehicle safe.

Final update - crews confirmed the vehicle had been 100% damaged by fire, 20% fire damage to hedgerow and 40% external fire and smoke damage to porch but fortunately no fire damaged was caused inside the property. Crews used 2 BA, 1 HRJ, 1 safety jet, small tools, 1 thermal imaging camera, 1 triple extension ladder and 1 e-draulic spreader. This fire was deemed as accidental.
