Fire Control were called and informed to a house fire in the Wyvern Road area of Taunton during the early hours of this morning caused by a washer dryer. 

Fire crews from Taunton and Wellington were quickly mobilised and soon arrived on scene confirming that there were smoke and flames issuing from the ground floor kitchen. 

The fire was located on the ground floor within the kitchen of a two storey, end of terrace, privately owned property. The kitchen sustained 50% fire damage and 80% smoke damage, crews extinguished the fire using 2 x breathing apparatus, 1 x hose reel jet, 1 x safety jet, 1 x thermal imaging camera and small tools. The fire was believed to be caused accidentally and a level 1 fire investigation was completed by the fire service.
