Property fire

A neighbour called the fire service after seeing black smoke coming from a property. Three fire appliances from Torquay and Paignton attended along with two fire officers.

On arrival the crews confirmed all persons were accounted for and got to work using 4 breathing apparatus sets, 1 hose reel jet, 1 covering jet and a thermal imaging camera. An ambulance was requested for a male suffering smoke inhalation. 

At 7:20 am the fire was confirmed out and oxygen therapy was being given to one adult female. 

At 8:11 one fire crew remained on scene along with fire investigation. 

The fire was believed to have originated in the bedroom on the 2nd floor of the house. The bedroom and bedding were damaged by fire. Positive pressure ventilation fans and breaking in tools were also used. 3 persons were treated by fire service and given oxygen therapy for smoke inhalation. All casualties were checked over by ambulance personnel but no persons went to hospital. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
