Fire control received a call regarding a male who had fallen 15 metres down an embankment.
Two fire engines and an aerial ladder from Torquay attended the incident alongside a special rescue vehicle from Barnstaple and two officers attended the incident.
Fire crews worked closely with the coastguard using safety at height equipment to successfully get the casualty to the HART team in SWAST.
