Fire Control received a number of calls reporting a property on fire in the above area. 

Control immediately mobilised 3 Fire Engines an Aerial Ladder Platform and a supporting officer. 

Once on scene crews sent back an immediate assistance message of Make Pumps 5 - due to the roof being fully involved in fire which also involved a number of solar panels. 
Crews were at work using 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 Hose Reel Jet. 

Shortly after this another assistance message came in for Make Water Bowsers 1 to assist with water supply to the incident.

A further assistance message has been sent from the incident ground of Make Pumps 8 to assist with Firefighting operations. 

Update 15:53

We are still on scene with 8 Fire Engines numerous supporting appliances and supporting officers. 

The fire is involving a single storey village hall roof which also holds numerous solar panels. 

Crews are still working to extinguish the fire utilising 4 x Breathing Apparatus wearers, 3 x Hose Reel Jets, 2 x Roof Ladders In Use, Small Tools and 2 x Operatives are also working from the Aerial ladder platform. 

Update 17:00 

This was a fire involving a single storey village hall measuring approximately 10 metres by 30 metres. The fire was involving the solar panels on the roof which spread throughout the remainder of the roof causing 100% damage, remainder of the building was damaged by heat, smoke and water.

  • 3 45mm Main Jets
  • 4 Short Extension Ladders
  • 2 Roof Ladders
  • Thermal Imaging Cameras 
  • 1 Drone
  • Small Tools 
     

Crews also utilised the Aerial Ladder Platform to expose underneath the roof tiles to assist in extinguishing the fire. Crews will remain on scene for the next couple of hours turning over and damping down.

The fire was accidental, caused by a fault in the solar panels on the roof.
