Scout and Guide groups - awards and badges

We are often contacted by youth groups such as brownies, scouts and cadets to ask if they can visit their local fire station. Where possible, we will be happy to arrange these visits because they are good for community engagement and fire safety education.

If you are a scout or guide leader and would like your local fire station crew to help your Beavers, Cubs, and Brownies achieve their fire safety badges and awards, please complete the form below. This is the only way to arrange a visit and we ask you not to approach our staff directly or contact the fire station.

During the visit, our firefighters will focus on important fire safety and prevention messages which include:

  • identifying fire risks in the home
  • making a fire escape plan
  • the importance of having working smoke alarms
  • the various roles of the fire and rescue service.

Please give plenty of notice for any request. We will do our best to accommodate, but dates and times cannot always be guaranteed.
If you have any questions please email education@dsfire.gov.uk (mailto:education@dsfire.gov.uk) or add to the request form.

Please name the fire station or stations you would like to visit.
Please provide some information about the award or badge you would like support with.
Please say what days of the week or dates and times you would like to viist.
