Fire control received a call from the owner of a horse stating their horse was stuck in a water filled ditch.

Control mobilised 1 fire appliance from Street and the specialist rescue team from Bridgwater.

Once Street fire appliance was on scene they confirmed 1 horse stuck in ditch and fortunately still on all 4 legs. Crews were preparing the area and formulating a plan whilst awaiting the arrival of the SRT team.

Once the SRT were on scene and had got to work, crews confirmed the horse was successfully rescued using safe systems of work, SRT personnel and SRT techniques to rescue horse. The incident was left in the hands of the owner and on scene vet.
