Incident - Horse Rescue

The Fire Service received a call reporting a horse fallen in a ditch, lying on its side and unable to get up.  A fire appliance and the heavy rescue unit from Middlemoor, Exeter as well as the water safety equipment from Exmouth attended.

Upon arrival, fire crews requested the attendance of the telehandler from Clyst St George, Exeter and confirmed a gelding, 17 hands high, stuck in a ditch.

Fire crews rescued the horse using strops, rescue lines and animal rescue equipment.
