Incident - Chip Pan Fire

Fire Control received a call from an Alarm Centre reporting a fire alarm activating at a property in the above location this evening.

Due to this premises being a special risk high rise building, one fire engine from Camels Head, two from Green Bank, one from Plymstock, two from Crownhill, a specialist aerial appliance from Crownhill and a specialist water carrier from Plympton were mobilised.

On arrival crews confirmed there to be a fire within a first floor flat involving a chip pan believed to be out on arrival of the fire service.

Crews set to work however with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, one dry powder extinguisher and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and there were no lingering hot spots.

No persons were injured at this incident and crews confirmed the cause to be accidental involving a chip pan only.
